Disney, like so many others, used to be one of those companies that you could trust your kids with.
You could put your kids in front of the television and show them a Disney movie, or something from the Disney Channel, and feel relatively comfortable in the fact that they aren’t going to see anything wholly inappropriate.
It used to be that way. Now it seems that every single time Disney puts out a project it has to be festooned with material that pushes hateful liberal agendas.
Diverting away from Disney for a second, not every damned movie or TV show that has to come out has to have a political message. I mean, we all like to discuss politics, but at the end of the day sometimes you just want to watch Die Hard or The Godfather or something.
Can you imagine how horrible The Godfather would have been had Disney gotten ahold of it? Every last minute of that movie would have been talking about how wrong the murder of that police captain in the Italian restaurant was.
That’s what Disney is doing. They’re trying to make every last thing we consume through television or movies have some message. Not everything has to have a message.
It’s as if McDonald’s started selling nothing but salads. Sometimes you just need something that’s fun and that you don’t always have to think about.
That being said, with recent projects and releases Disney has gone that route of pushing ultra-liberal policies. It has hit that mouse’s wallet hard.
Disney projects that have been released in the past couple of years for the most part have bombed at the box office. Nobody is buying what they are selling.
What they’re blaming it on is absolutely insane though. Instead of saying that they made a series of movies that nobody wants to watch; they’re blaming on what they are calling racist and sexist people.
Yeah, don’t admit that you made a stinker that nobody wanted to see because it was like watching a sermon with special effects. Don’t admit that you might have put your eggs in one basket.
That’s right Disney, go ahead and just say that all the people that didn’t want to see your crap are racists. Yep, that’ll get them coming back to the movies.
I think I’ll stick to my home projector and the movies I already own.
