Trump-backed Mehmet Oz, a.k.a. Dr. Oz, had declared himself the victor.
This is a page right out of Trump’s playbook.
However, it may come back to bite him.
Not Over Yet
As it stands, Oz has a 902-vote advantage in the race.
There is currently a suit by his opponent to have more than 800 ballots counted that were deemed to be invalid.
Unfortunately for Oz, there is a legal precedent to count these ballots as valid.
Most of those ballots are in favor of Oz’s opponent, so if they do get counted, his lead is probably under 300.

There are also roughly 10,000 absentee ballots from Americans and troops currently stationed in other parts of the country or world, so they all need to be counted.
Oz can claim victory here, but he could also wind up with a rather large egg on his face.
