Emotions are still running high regarding the Uvalde mass shooting on Tuesday.

Sadly, the more information we learn, the more it appears the local police department completely botched its active shooter response.

Rep. Dan Crenshaw (R-Tx) is now demanding accountability over the response.

We Need to Know

So, here is what we know so far…

Officers waited nearly an hour going into the classroom because they could not open the barricaded door.

They reportedly had to wait for a staffer to bring a key.

Observation One: We are able to breach reinforced structures, and we were not able to breach a door in a classroom?

The commanding officer was not permitting the officers to enter the room due to concern over officers being shot.

Observation Two: Their job in these situations is to immediately neutralize the threat, regardless of the danger.

This delay was reportedly caused because there was a delay in tactical gear getting on scene.

Observation Three: In a live shooter response, why was the tactical gear not on scene with minutes, ten minutes, let alone nearly an hour?

As I have stated before, I am not yet ready to throw blame until we have all the facts, but clearly some protocols fell by the wayside here that cost the lives of these children.

Rep. Crenshaw, a former Navy Seal, explains…

One safe assumption to make is that the Chief of Police of Uvalde is no longer going to have a job.
