China is turning up the heat in the kitchen.
House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) had no sooner left Taiwan when China issued a response.
According to Taiwanese officials, 11 launches encompassing 15 ballistic missiles took place in “live-fire military exercises.”

The “test” was reportedly meant to simulate a blockade of the island nation.
The Taiwanese Ministry of Defense (MoD) stated, “We condemn such irrational action that has jeopardized regional peace, willfully test-firing missiles into waters near other countries.”
Some missiles were fired near the Matsu Islands, a key element in Taiwan’s defense structure.
China slapped itself on the back, stating that the “long-range armed live fire precision missile strikes were carried out on selected targets in the eastern area of the Taiwan Strait.”
Secretary of State Blinken responded, “I want to speak to the recent activity concerning Taiwan because I know it’s on a lot of people’s minds.
“The United States continues to have an abiding interest in peace and stability across the Taiwan Strait.
“We oppose any unilateral efforts to change the status quo, especially by force.”
It is almost comical how this administration responds to aggression by other countries against our allies.
I am sure Blinken’s words have China terrified.
