The Biden administration was just cut off at the knees on the immigration front.
A top Democrat that has been covering for Biden just reversed course.
El Paso Mayor Oscar Leeser, a Democrat, has declared a state of emergency over the border crisis.
Boom!
According to rumors earlier this year, the Biden administration was asking Leeser to hold off on declaring the emergency before the election.
Had he done that, it would have brought nationwide attention to the issue.
With 7,000 illegal immigrants crossing the border every day, 1,500 of them going through El Paso, Leeser could not take it any longer.
He stated, “Our asylum seekers are not safe.
“We have hundreds and hundreds on the street and that’s not the way we treat our people.
“I want to make sure that people are treated with dignity.”
The city is still waiting on funding that was promised by the federal government to help offset the costs.
Recent pictures from the area show the city being overwhelmed with migrants on the streets.
This is happening in several other cities along the border, as shelters are filled and there is nowhere else for them to go.
Perhaps now the media will actually treat this like the crisis it is.
