One of the biggest donors in the Republican Party is breaking with Donald Trump.
His shenanigans have cost Trump huge, as mega-donor Ken Griffin says he is looking elsewhere.
That elsewhere would be to Ron DeSantis.
Time for Change
Trump has been given warning after warning in polls that voters are tiring of his act.
If he could stick to the issues, he would be unstoppable, but he has to pick a fight with everyone that he deems to have crossed him.
Now he is upset with Ron DeSantis because DeSantis backed a GOP candidate that does not like Trump and that Trump does not like.
So, Trump took a shot at a governor that has pushed his MAGA agenda from the start and has supported Trump every step of the way.
Now Ken Griffin, who donated $60 million to GOP campaigns during this cycle, is going to urge and back DeSantis in the primary over Trump.
Griffin stated, “He did a lot of things really well and missed the mark on some important areas.
“And for a litany of reasons, I think it’s time to move on to the next generation.”
So, my guess is that Trump will start hammering Griffin, which is just idiotic.
If DeSantis does run and Trump beats him, Griffin will ultimately back the GOP candidate, and Trump will need his money.
If Trump attacks him, Griffin will close his checkbook during the general election and walk away.
Trump cannot get over the narrative that this not about him, it is about We the People.
Until he does that, he will continue to lose support.
He will undoubtedly win the primary election if he runs, that is not even a question.
But the same question looms… if he continues to make enemies within the party, can he win the general election?
