Last week, the Biden administration dropped its internal review of the Afghanistan withdrawal.
If you like fiction, you really would have enjoyed this.
While bending over backward to pat Joe Biden on the back for a job well done, the document blamed the bad orange man about a half a dozen times.
NBC News investigative reporter Dan De Luce actually dropped a bit of a truth bomb on the administration.
Just Not Right
Biden backed out of everything else that Trump had committed to, so he could have just as easily backed out of this.
The withdrawal had actually been delayed during the Trump administration because the Taliban had been found in violation of the agreement.
I should also note that in comments made by the Biden administration, it sometimes refers to plans that Trump had in place, but the document often says there was no plan in place, so…
Anyway, De Luce offered up his two cents on the matter.
He stated, “There are not really new facts as far as we can see in this report. It’s very much an argument, similar to the argument they made right after that chaotic withdrawal that, really, they inherited this terrible situation from the Trump administration, that the intelligence community wasn’t predicting the Afghan Army would collapse so quickly, and that they did the best they could in those circumstances.”
He continued, “But it’s very defensive in tone.
“And it doesn’t mention that, as early as April of that year, there were lawmakers and refugee advocates and veterans groups that were all pleading with the White House privately and publicly to start evacuating all of the Afghans that had worked as interpreters and in other jobs for U.S. forces.”
Alex Witt added, “[T]he fact is, the Biden administration had seven months after taking over from the Trump administration before that withdrawal.”
As long as Biden is in office, we will never get the real story.
Sadly, after he leaves office, even if the truth comes out, it is unlikely most mainstream media outlets will take it seriously.
History, however, will show that Biden not only botched this operation, but he also left thousands of Americans behind enemy lines, some of whom are still there.
