A few scandals have hit the news cycle this week and it could not be worse timing for Democrat Georgia gubernatorial candidate Stacey Abrams.
Of course, both involve money, big money.
The first is regarding six figures that were paid directly to Abrams.
The second sounds like a PPP scam where an organization founded by Abrams locked in almost $500,000 in a PPP loan.
Big Problems
Abrams needs to explain why she was paid $150,000 in salary by Dream Project Partners, a company that only seems to appear on paper.
When you research, it is a business that does really seem to do any business, yet she pulled down six figures.
In her financial forms, Abrams does not even list any duties, so this looks like a shell company meant to do nothing more than funnel cash into Abrams’ bank account.
The second situation is even worse.
When Abrams was a State Representative, she founded the New Georgia Project.
When PPP loans were made available, the organization received $482,000 to cover the salary of 95 positions, but it is not quite as simple as that.
The organization pulled in $1.6 million in 2019 and seemed to run just fine.
In 2020, the organization pulled in $24.5 million and finished the year with an $18 million balance of assets on the spreadsheet, so you can see where I am going with this, right?
Why did they need a taxpayer-funded loan if they had $18 million in the bank, and money was clearly still coming in?
If you want to get kicked in the crotch… the loan is listed as “forgiven” in the database, meaning we ate that money.
We should also note the Project director received a 58 percent pay increase in 2020, drawing a salary of more than $180,000.
The PPP loans seem to be more like the bank bailout, where bonuses were paid to executives instead of paying bills.
I don’t see how this is not fraud.
Don’t get me wrong, there were a lot of businesses that needed that money to survive because of the forced shutdown, but you cannot convince me in any way, shape, or form, that The New Georgia Project could not have gotten along without that $482,000 gift from the taxpayers.
This woman is as corrupt as it gets and my guess is that all of these allegations will get brushed under the rug because she will claim she is only being attacked because she is a black woman.
Who wants to take that bet?
