More legal problems are surfacing for Donald Trump.
This is not exactly what he needs right now, as his campaign is struggling to get momentum in anticipation of Ron DeSantis announcing.
The Manhattan District Attorney has signaled that charges are imminent, which could knock Trump right out of the race.
Bad Timing
Reports have surfaced that an offer has been made to Trump’s attorneys regarding the hush money scandal related to the Stormy Daniels case.
The offer was for Trump to come in and testify before the grand jury, which generally means that charges are imminent.
Daniels claims that Trump’s attorney paid her hush money to keep her mouth shut during the 2016 election cycle.
Michael Cohen, Donald Trump’s former attorney, stated that Trump told him to pay Daniels $130,000 only days before the votes were to be cast.
The case centers around how Trump’s business classified the payment in order to cover it up.
Trump attorney Susan Necheles stated, “For five years, the Manhattan district attorney’s office has investigated every facet of former President Trump’s life.
“Unable to find criminality in any aspect of his finances, the Manhattan district attorney now threatens to indict former President Trump for payments made to Stormy Daniels seven years ago.
“For the DA’s office to charge former President Trump, a victim of extortion, with a crime because his then-lawyer, Michael Cohen, a convicted liar, paid the extortionist would be unprecedented and outrageous selective prosecution.”
Trump has been Teflon Don so far in these cases, and he will need it again or risk seeing his second presidential run go down the tubes.
Keep in mind, paying hush money is not illegal, this just centers on how the money was tagged for the payment.
