Donald Trump finally got a win in court.
U.S. District Judge Aileen Cannon will surely take heat after overruling her special master.
Regardless, she halted the order given by the special master regarding Trump having to submit a declaration about claims made about the materials found during the Mar-A-Lago raid.
Overruled!
Cannon, who was appointed by Trump, is already taking heat for even appointing the special master in the case.
The special master had ordered Trump to issue a sworn statement on claims that evidence had been planted at Mar-a-Lago.
In overruling that order, Cannon stated, “There shall be no separate requirement on Plaintiff at this stage, prior to the review of any of the Seized Materials, to lodge ex ante final objections to the accuracy of Defendant’s Inventory, its descriptions, or its contents. The Court’s Appointment Order did not contemplate that obligation.”
Trump’s attorney stated that without having the documents in hand, they would not be able to corroborate the DOJ inventory.
Trump did not openly accuse the DOJ of planting evidence, but he did bring up the idea that it was a possibility on Truth Social.
The special master, Judge Dearie, was appointed by Ronald Reagan.
A lot of people questioned Trump even putting him on the approved list because he was one of the FISA judges that was duped by the FBI during the Russian collusion investigation.
Trump told Sean Hannity that he chose him for that reason, apparently thinking the judge would lean his way because he was fooled by the FBI.
Clearly, that is not the case here.
