Remember the high and mighty Republican governor of Maryland, Larry Hogan?
Remember when he was going to save us all from Donald Trump because he was so much better than everyone else?
Well, a former staffer for Hogan just got into a standoff with FBI agents and now he is dead.
Man on the Run
Roy McGrath decided to help himself to some state funds before he left his position.
He put himself together a nice severance package and off he went.
When the theft was discovered, a warrant was issued for his arrest, but he decided to run.
The FBI caught up with him in Tennessee and a standoff ensued.
Eventually, shots were exchanged, with at least one FBI agent returning fire.
When the dust settled, McGrath was dead, but it was not yet reported if he died from the agent’s fire or at his own hand.
His attorney, Joseph Murtha, confirmed his death.
Murtha stated, “Good evening. The FBI has confirmed that Roy has succumbed to his injuries.
“It is unclear to me at this time if the injury was self-inflicted or was as a result of an exchange of gunfire with the FBI.
“It is a tragic ending to the past three weeks of uncertainty.
“I think it is important for me to stress that Roy never wavered about his innocence.”
Yes, that is why he ran and exchanged shots with the police.
The FBI stated, “The FBI is reviewing an agent-involved shooting which occurred at approximately 6:30 p.m. on Monday, April 3, 2023.
“During the arrest, the subject, Roy McGrath, sustained injury and was transported to the hospital.
“The FBI takes all shooting incidents involving our agents or task force members seriously.
“In accordance with FBI policy, the shooting incident is under investigation by the FBI’s Inspection Division.”
I think now we know why Hogan decided not to run for office.
