The daughter of a top Democrat has found herself charged with a despicable crime.
What is even worse than her actions are the actions of her mother, House Democratic Whip Katherine Clark.
Rather than call out the horrific actions of her daughter, Clark is staying silent.
It Was Assault
I get that Clark was in a difficult situation, but this was a chance to be both a parent and a politician.
She has clearly failed on both fronts.
Her non-binary daughter, Riley Dowell, has been arrested and charted with assault with a dangerous weapon, destruction or injury of personal property, and damage of property by graffiti.
Boston police were called for individuals who were defacing public property, writing “ACAB,” which stands for “All Cops Are Bastards,” and “NO COP CITY,” on public property.
When police tried to arrest Dowell, the protesters “began to surround officers while screaming profanities though megaphones on the public street causing traffic to come to a standstill.”
During the melee, “an officer was hit in the face and could be seen bleeding from the nose and mouth.”
Clark’s statement should have been something like this…
I will stand by my daughter, but defacing public property and attacking police officers is no way to “protest” for your cause.
Instead, this is what she posted…
Last night, my daughter was arrested in Boston, Massachusetts. I love Riley, and this is a very difficult time in the cycle of joy and pain in parenting.
This will be evaluated by the legal system, and I am confident in that process.

When you no longer punish children, hold them accountable, and give them trophies for signing up, this is what you get.
This country is in a lot of trouble when this upcoming generation takes over.
