Supreme Court Justice Stephen Breyer has finally caved to the radical left.
Earlier today, reports surfaced that Breyer was going to step down.
Joe Biden will now get to nominate his first, and probably only, Supreme Court Justice.
Step Down Now!
Breyer has been serving on the court for almost three decades.
Now in his 80s, liberals did not want to see happen to his seat what happened to RBG’s seat.
Additionally, it looks as though Democrats could lose the Senate next year, which means Cocaine Mitch could block a Biden appointment if he saw fit to do so.
If Breyer wanted to be assured that another liberal would take his seat, he had no choice but to retire now.
Biden is likely to nominate a minority woman to the post.
Currently, the leading candidates are U.S. Circuit Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson of the Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia, a former Breyer law clerk; and Leondra Kruger, a justice on California’s Supreme Court.
There are also some whispers of Kamala Harris being nominated, but that will be a tough one to get through.
It would, however, solve Biden’s problem of having her remain on the ticket.
Biden does have to be careful how left he goes with this nomination.
If he lurches too far left, any positive press he gets from this will hurt him with moderates and independents.
This line for a justice that will satisfy everyone is a fine line indeed.
