Another police officer is in the hospital after a brutal attack.

Missouri City, TX, Police Officer Crystal Sepulveda, 29, was shot in the face during a pursuit.

The officer is 29 years old and a three-year veteran of the force.

Will Make It Through

The young officer has been described as a fighter by her co-workers.

Despite the nature of the shooting, they expect her to fight her way through this and recover.

Lance Bothel, Missouri City assistant police chief, stated, “She is a strong officer and she will make it through this.”

This was an early morning pursuit with the suspect in a stolen vehicle.

The initial call came from a gas station that had just been robbed.

The chase eventually stopped in front of a residence, when the alleged thief emerged from the vehicle.

The suspect ran from the vehicle while opening up fire on officers in pursuit, with Sepulveda taking a shot in the face and foot.

A perimeter was set with the suspect continuing to fire on officers, who returned fire and eventually took out the shooter.

The suspect was pronounced dead at the hospital.
