A local investigative journalist was killed outside of his home.
Las Vegas Review-Journal reporter Jeff German was found dead outside his home early Saturday morning.
German had been stabbed to death, possibly due to a fight on Friday night.
Shocking Death
German, 69, was a longtime investigative reporter for the Las Vegas Journal-Review.
According to local reports, he was in an altercation with someone outside his home on Friday night.
Police are now pursuing leads regarding that fight as to the possible murderer of German.
The LVMPD stated, “LVMPD enacted its major case protocol Saturday in the homicide investigation.
“This brings together a variety of resources to maximize the investigative effort and apply a sense of urgency to the apprehension of the suspect.
“We are pursuing a suspect, but the suspect is outstanding.”
Executive Editor Glenn Cook stated, “The Review-Journal family is devastated to lose Jeff.
“He was the gold standard of the news business. It’s hard to imagine what Las Vegas would be like today without his many years of shining a bright light on dark places.”
Among German’s most notable reports were the mass shooting at Mandalay Bay and a book on the death of Ted Binion, heir to the Horseshoe Club fortune.
