The state of Texas and the country are in mourning today.
A Texas deputy in Harris County, Texas, was shot dead early this morning.
The incident happened during a traffic stop.
Caught by Surprise
Cpl. Charles Galloway, 47, a 12-year veteran of the force, was clearly not expecting a confrontation when he pulled over a white, four-door Toyota Avalon.
The driver, only described as a Hispanic man, emerged from the vehicle firing his weapon.
The officer was struck and killed…
Our detectives are on the scene of the shooting in the 9100 block of Beechnut Street.
HPD commanders and PIO are at Memorial Hermann Southwest Hospital where any further information will be released in a media briefing. #hounews https://t.co/D4B2vmYNF5

Galloway is one of several officers around the country this weekend that has been shot and killed in this fashion.
In New York City, a rookie 22-year-old officer was also ambushed and killed, with his partner listed in critical condition at last report.
The rise in attacks against our law enforcement directly results from the loose Democrat policies we are being seen put in place around the country.
Rest in peace, Cpl. Galloway.
