Ford Motor Co. has been on board with the Biden administration to push electric vehicles (EVs) from the outset.

This is because the company has its hand out for government subsidies and the only way to get them is to help this administration push its agenda.

Well, that agenda may soon cost 8,000 hard-working Americans their jobs.

Layoffs Looming

Bloomberg News reported that Ford plans to lay off 8,000 workers to help fund its big EV push.

The workers targeted are reportedly mostly salaried staffers.

For Ford, this would trim about 25 percent of its current salaried payroll.

The goal of Ford management is to trim $3 billion from current costs while at the same time producing two million EVs in that same period.

You don’t have to be a genius to see the correlation here.

Chief Communications Officer Mark Truby stated, “As part of this, we have laid out clear targets to lower our cost structure to ensure we are lean and fully competitive with the best in the industry.”

Now, I could be crazy, but I remember Democrats promising that green energy would add jobs, not lose them.

This is just a staggering blow to the workforce, but it is one that we have been predicting for quite some time.

Ford is making a big commitment to EVs when there is still significant resistance to the product.

However, I guess if there is no alternative, which seems to be the plan, people will have no choice but to buy into EVs if they want to travel by means other than walking or cycling.
