I firmly believe that Barack Obama was the driving force behind removing Joe Biden from the presidential race.
Obama, however, does not appear happy with the choice of the party in Kamala Harris.
To that point, Obama is one of the few elites in the party that has not yet endorsed Kamala Harris.
Not Just Yet
Within 48 hours of Biden dropping out of the race, Harris was informed by the party delegates that she had enough support to secure the nomination.
The next day, Senator Chuck Schumer (D-N.Y.) and Rep. Jeffries (D-N.Y.) giddily endorsed Harris, as did Pelosi and a slew of other high-profile Democrats.
The one voice that has remained silent is that of Barack Obama.
Now, Obama has generally kept his endorsement card close to the vest, but there is a lot of backroom speculation that Obama does not yet think Harris can beat Trump, so he is holding back on his endorsement.
Instead, Obama is trying to portray Joe Biden as a hero for stepping down from the race.
The former president stated, “Joe understands better than anyone the stakes in this election – how everything he has fought for throughout his life, and everything that the Democratic Party stands for, will be at risk if we allow Donald Trump back in the White House and give Republicans control of Congress.
“I also know Joe has never backed down from a fight…for him to look at the political landscape and decide that he should pass the torch to a new nominee is surely one of the toughest in his life.
“But I know he wouldn’t make this decision unless he believed it was right for America.”
Obama continued, “We will be navigating uncharted waters in the days ahead.
“But I have extraordinary confidence that the leaders of our party will be able to create a process from which an outstanding nominee emerges.”
That is a really clever way of saying we decided to take the vote out of the hands of the American people, trash the candidate you selected, then pick our own because you guys don’t have a clue.
Let’s not forget, Obama was guilty of pushing Joe Biden on voters for the primary election, and now because he is polling bad, they decided to boot him from the race.
That, my friends, is about as undemocratic as it gets.
Obama did get one thing right, however, that being that we are truly seeing what the Democrat Party stands for now.
