There is a new name on the ballot in New Jersey and it is NOT going to make Democrats very happy.
One of the more controversial figures during the pandemic has decided to run for office.
Ian Smith is running for a seat in NJ CD-3.
Remember Me
Remember that gym owner that refused to cave to government overreach when all the pandemic restrictions were being put in place?
Smith and his partner own Atilis Gym in Bellmawr.
They racked up over $1 million in fines for refusing to close down shop.
Instead of whining, he is now taking action and looking to change the system from within…
This Thursday 2/3 I’ll be formally announcing my campaign for Congress in NJ CD-3 against @AndyKimNJ. I am truly excited to have the possibility to serve the people of NJ with a platform focused on liberty, small government, and America First policies. https://t.co/B4SoD9fDDH

You want to talk about an interesting character, here is Smith announcing that he had lost his contempt of court case and local authorities were coming to board up his gym…

He had one of the best lines ever in the middle of the case, telling politicians, “I am a free man.
“I do not ask for permission.
“I do not ask for forgiveness.
“You work for us.
“The only way you’ll ever close these doors is when you close my casket.”
This is a notoriously blue seat, so it will be very interesting to see if he can flip it red and give the GOP an unexpected win.
