Waukesha massacre suspect Darrell Brooks has decided he wants his day in court.

Brooks is facing 77 charges for his alleged role in driving an SUV into a Christmas parade in Waukesha, WI.

Brooks has pleaded “not guilty” to all charges.

Brooks is still in jail, unable to meet the $5 million bail that has been set.

A man named James Norton had allegedly started a GoFundMe page to raise the bail.

That account has since been suspended.

Additionally, GoFundMe has stated that Norton has been banned from the site.

Brooks allegedly drove his SUV into a large crowd during a parade, and this did not appear to be an accident.

Witnesses stated that the SUV had “zigzagged” “for blocks,” apparently trying to hit as many people as possible.

Brooks has a public defender that claimed Brooks had nowhere to turn.

She also stated that he did not intend to hit pedestrians and was horrified by the images of the massacre.

Here is an idea… hit the brake and stop the car.

Among the victims was an 8-year-old boy, so we expect prosecutors to throw everything they have at him in this case… and they should.

The only downfall to Brooks pleading not guilty is that the state does not have the death penalty in play.

That being the case, he really stands nothing to lose by taking this case to court.

Even if he had pleaded guilty, he would more than likely be spending the rest of his life behind bars, so why not roll the die and hope prosecutors make a mistake.

It is the perfect example of why we need the death penalty in place, as this is one of the most horrific things we have seen for this type of attack.
