The raid against Mar-a-Lago was due to an urgent national security threat.

That was more or less the line we were fed from Merrick Garland days after the raid was conducted.

That my, friends, to quote Joe Biden, is hogwash.

Why Wait?

The more information we get, the more this looks like a well-timed political attack.

Numerous outlets are now offering up a timeline of when the information came to the DOJ and when it acted upon it.

For instance, the mole inside the White House halted communications with the DOJ around June, which is when it was believed the DOJ had been alerted that Trump may have highly classified information at Mar-a-Lago.

So they held that information for months, then it took three days for them to act on the warrant after the judge signed it.

Legal expert and attorney Alan Dershowitz stated, “Why didn’t the Justice Department seek to enforce the subpoena it apparently had issued, rather than seek a search warrant?

“Was this consistent with the ‘standard practice’ Mr. Garland articulated in his statement — ‘to seek less intrusive alternatives to a search’ whenever possible?

“Why was the matter handled so differently from the prior investigations of Sandy Berger and Hillary Clinton, who were also suspected of mishandling classified material?

“[U]ntil Mr. Garland fully and specifically answers the hard questions about what appears to be unequal application of rules and practices, ‘what about her emails?’ will be a pertinent question.”

A new question can be added to the stack in that if Trump were guilty of some horrific violation of the Espionage Act, why were the illegally taken passports returned and why do we not yet have an indictment on him?

Why? The answer is simple…

This was a political attack and nothing more.

Who wants to bet they come down very close to election day if charges are filed?
