The first domino has fallen against Donald Trump.
New York Attorney General Letitia James has filed a lawsuit against Donald Trump, several of his family members, and his business associates.
James is claiming that Trump “inflated his net worth by billions of dollars” with the help of his children.
Here We Go
We knew this would happen sooner or later.
The question is if it is a politically motivated case or if something will come of it.
James stated, “Mr. Trump and the Trump Org repeatedly and persistently manipulated the value of assets to induce banks to lend money to the Trump Organization on more favorable terms than would otherwise have been available to the company, to pay lower taxes, to satisfy continuing loan agreements and to induce insurance companies to provide insurance coverage for higher limits and at lower premiums.”
Trump has not personally responded as of yet, but his attorney has.
Alina Habba stated, “Today’s filing is neither focused on the facts nor the law – rather, it is solely focused on advancing the Attorney General’s political agenda.
“It is abundantly clear that the Attorney General’s Office has exceeded its statutory authority by prying into transactions where absolutely no wrongdoing has taken place.
“We are confident that our judicial system will not stand for this unchecked abuse of authority, and we look forward to defending our client against each and every one of the Attorney General’s meritless claims.”
James better hope she can make these claims stick or this will blow up in the face of Democrats.
There are only two outcomes to this mess.
James wins the case and more or less ends Donald Trump.
Trump wins the case and his popularity as the man fighting against the machine grows to the point that he easily wins the presidential election.
This is all or nothing for both sides.
