Joe Biden’s speech in Wilkes Barre was truly something special.
It provided us with enough material for about a week’s worth of reports.
However, we wanted to start with two significant gaffes Biden made.
Oops, He Did It Again
The two hits on Biden both come from the same line.
Biden stated, “Folks, do me a favor. Presumptuous of me to say that, but think about doing me a favor.
“Please, please elect the Attorney General to the Senate.
“Elect that big ol’ boy to be governor.”
I am guessing that Joe Biden could not remember their names, so he took the easy way out, but he still managed to screw it up.
Josh Shapiro is the attorney general, but he is running for governor.
John Fetterman is the big ol’ boy, but he is running for Senate.
Part 2
The second part of this gaffe is a bit more serious.
When Joe Biden offered up those two endorsements, he turned his policy speech into a campaign rally.
We have seen many presidents do this in the past, but the difference here is that Joe Biden had the Marine Corps Band with him.
Service members are not permitted to attend partisan political rallies in uniform, so, technically, every band member could be in trouble for having been present when Biden made that statement.
Now, Trump once handed out MAGA hats when visiting troops, and Democrats and the media lost their minds.
Basically, the Marine Corps Band made an in-kind donation by playing at the event since Biden endorsed candidates.
The administration and the Marine Corps have been contacted for a comment on this matter, but they have yet to make one.
We know they will try to brush this under the rug, but it IS a big deal because they made it a big deal when Trump did it.
Level playing ground… right?
