Okay, so I know what you are thinking here… who cares about a handshake?
Give me about a minute of your day and I will tell you why this has become such a big deal.
This all comes down to the White House announcing a “rule,” then the media realizing what this is truly about.
Do the Fist Bump
Before Joe Biden left for his trip to the Middle East, the White House announced a new rule.
Instead of Joe Biden shaking hands, he was going to do the fist bump to avoid COVID.
Now, “Seinfeld” fans must remember the episode of the close talker… well, that is Joe Biden.
He likes to lean in nice and close and the spittle flies.
So, here is my point… if Joe is not wearing a mask and he is getting right up close and personal, what the hell difference is a handshake going to make?
One of the White House press members figured it out.
This is all a big show for Biden to save face and not have pictures taken shaking hands with the Crown Prince when he heads over to Saudi Arabia to beg for oil.
Remember, Democrats slammed the Crown Prince and Trump after it was believed that the Crown Prince ordered the assassination of a journalist.
To that point, a reporter asked White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre, “I think we’re dancing around this question, which is, there’s a reason why the President might not want to be seen shaking hands with the crown prince, and it seems like you’ve — like he was just on the South Lawn of the White House embracing members of Congress, all that sort of thing. And now, suddenly, there’s what appears to be a change.”
Bingo!
Joe followed the new rule for about half the day, then he could not help himself.
While Joe was on a tour with Israeli officials, he went right back into handshake mode (The video can only be seen on YouTube, so click here for the exciting footage).
This is arguably one of the most idiotic things this White House has done, and the fact they are trying to cover up the fact that Biden does not want a PR mess with this stupid rule is just outright insulting to the American people.
I have news for you, Joe, if you are going to get oil out of the Saudis, you are going to have to do far more than shake hands and believe me, none of us want to see that on film!
