Shop NowThe outlet described the death as an apparent suicide. Its report rests on The Banker, a trade publication that reported the death Friday, with confirmation from Andy Agathangelou, head of the Transparency Task Force.
The Daily Caller article cites no police, coroner or family statement on the cause.
Andriesz once worked at BGC Partners, a brokerage in Lutnick’s Cantor Fitzgerald group.
According to BBC reporting cited by the Daily Caller, he found a 2018 email chain in which Lutnick and Epstein discussed plans for a startup business, and gave it to the House Oversight Committee before Lutnick’s scheduled appearance there in May.
He also found his own name in the Epstein files, in material about FBI interviews he gave during a dispute with BGC, the outlet reported.
In an Aug. 9 statement, Andriesz said the consequences of whistleblowing “have been devastating for my family and me.”
Lutnick has said he “unequivocally” condemns Epstein’s conduct. Rep. Thomas Massie noted Andriesz’s role in a social media post Sunday.
