The trial of Igor Danchenko is over.
The jury took about 10 seconds to find him not guilty of lying to FBI agents.
This is an absolutely crushing blow to John Durham and former President Donald Trump.
How?
It took the jury less than two days to sort through the evidence and determine if the Russian national had done anything wrong.
I warned everyone last week that this was the likely outcome after the judge had already acquitted Danchenko of one charge before it ever went to the jury.
The wording at the time was very purposeful and I believe it put a thought in the jury’s mind that would lead to no other outcome than Danchenko getting off without a single charge.
Durham slammed the FBI in his closing remarks.
He instructed the jury not to feel sorry for the FBI agents that screwed up the case.
He added that the special counsel was not there to “defend the FBI’s handling” of the case.
After the verdict was announced, Danchenko’s team took a victory lap.
Stuart Sears stated, “We’ve known all along that Mr. Danchenko was innocent.
“We’re happy now that the American public knows that as well.
“We thank these jurors for their hard work and deliberations in making the right call, and that’s all we have at this time.”
It is tough to imagine Durham prosecuting any other cases after this latest debacle.
His report should be issued next, but you might as well toss that in the garbage can at this point.
Without any convictions in the case, the media and Democrats will laugh off any conclusions reached by Durham.
