Rep. Liz Cheney (R-WY) may have just received a political death blow to her career.
Democrats are praising her for her efforts against Donald Trump.
That praise will likely sink her even lower in the eyes of Republican voters.
What Is She Thinking?
Polling among voters has shown that Cheney going over to the dark side is one of the main reasons voters want nothing to do with her anymore.
We all know she is best friends with Democrats now, but we would think she would be intelligent enough to tell them not to gush over her.
Instead, that is exactly what they are doing to help her gain support among voters.
For instance, Rep. Adam Schiff (D-CA), arguably the most hated Democrat in the House by conservatives, stated, “She knows who she is, and I don’t think it’s an exaggeration to say she has remained true to her conservative ideology.
“It’s that so many in her party have moved away from conservatism to embrace Trumpism.”
CNN’s Harry Enten agrees this is only hurting her more.
He stated, “We shouldn’t mistake adoring press coverage and bipartisan bona fides for popularity in the place where popularity matters most for Cheney: Wyoming.
“A look at the data reveals that Cheney should be regarded as the clear underdog in her efforts to retain her seat.”
Brad Coker, managing director of the Mason-Dixon Polling & Strategy polling firm, was a bit more direct.
He stated, “The big story is Liz Cheney is going to get beat.
“That’s a foregone conclusion.
“This race is more about Liz Cheney than it is about Donald Trump.”
I have been saying that for ages.
In this political environment, the moment Cheney saddled up with Democrats, her career was OVER.
