Cue the outrage…
Niagara Falls Police have announced that they have released the footage of a recent shooting.
The bodycam footage is from an officer-involved shooting on Friday.
The incident occurred when officers responded to a call of a suspicious person.
The Shooting
Once again, everything seems as though it would have gone just fine had the individual complied with police orders.
Instead, as officers tried to talk to the man, he took off.
When police tried to taser the man, it had no effect, at which time the suspect pulled a knife on one of the officers and lunged at him.
That officer knocked the man down, but he immediately got up and went after another officer.
At this point, the officer pulled his weapon and fired…
The suspect, at last report, was in critical condition.
One of the officers was treated for slash wounds from the suspect.
The local DA announced that the investigation had been halted due to the suspect’s medical condition.
If and when the suspect is able to speak with him, the investigation will be resumed, but I really don’t know what else he needs to see.
Both officers involved in the shooting have been placed on leave while the investigation is conducted.
