The last few days have seen a horrifying stretch of deaths among young athletes.

Two reports broke within the last 48 hours of young athletes mysteriously dying.

A 26-year-old linebacker for the Ravens died Tuesday night, and reports have also surfaced regarding the death of Caleb Swanigan, a former NBA player and Purdue star, who died at 25.

What Is Going On?

Swanigan was a rock star for Purdue, having been picked in the first round of the 2017 draft by the Portland Trail Blazers.

He played a total of three seasons in the NBA, also playing for the Sacramento Kings.

At Purdue, he was named Mr. Basketball, which is about as big an honor as one can receive in the state of Indiana.

He played there for two seasons, averaging 18.5 points and 12.5 rebounds per game during his final season.

He was also named an All-American that year.

After his death, Purdue’s Men’s Basketball Program stated, “Devastated. Our thoughts and prayers to Caleb Swanigan’s family and friends.

“The world lost a gentle soul last night. Love you Biggie.”

According to reports, no foul play was present and he died of natural causes.
