American Idol fans were stunned on Tuesday to learn of the death of one of their favorite contestants.
Willie Spence, the runner-up for Season 19 (2021), was killed in a car accident in Tennessee.
The young rising star was only 23 years old.

A tractor-trailer was parked on the shoulder of the road in I24 East.
Spence was driving along and for some reason pulled on to the shoulder and slammed into the truck.
He was pronounced dead at the scene.
