A Pennsylvania woman has been charged with two counts of criminal homicide after her husband and 3-year-old son were found stabbed to death in a room at the Great Wolf Lodge in the Poconos, according to a criminal complaint reported by ABC News.
Monroe County District Attorney Mike Mancuso announced the charges against 27-year-old Metallica Rose Harrison of Towanda on Tuesday, calling the case a “violent domestic tragedy.”
Police were sent to the resort in Pocono Township on Monday after a 911 call from Harrison, who described herself as suicidal, the complaint says.
According to the complaint, she said on the call that her husband and son were “already gone” and did not at any point ask for help for them.
Officers found her husband, Charles Harrison, and her son dead on mattresses in the room.
Harrison was taken to a hospital for treatment of her injuries. The complaint says she declined to speak with police after being read her Miranda rights.
“This case is an isolated domestic tragedy and there is no threat to the community,” Pocono Township police said. Harrison is awaiting a preliminary hearing, and the online court docket lists no attorney for her.
Great Wolf Lodge said it is cooperating fully with investigators.
