The NHL has finally caved and given into the bogus narrative of systemic racism.
George Floyd, a man who the medical examiner now says did NOT die from asphyxiation, and Jacob Blake, a man that was wanted by police and was going for a knife, are now the poster children for this movement that is paralyzing this country.
And, before I get started, let me make this very clear…
- I don’t think anyone should openly fear the police
- If police break the rules and use excessive force, I believe they should be held accountable
But let me make this also very clear…
- I believe police have a right to use deadly force when their life is threatened
- I do not believe we have a systemic racism problem in this country
In terms of what the NHL is doing right now, well, I am just baffled.
Jacob Blake was a wanted man. He had already been tased and was fighting with police.
When he was shot, he was going for a knife on the floorboard of his car, a knife even Blake admits he had.
What exactly do people think he was going to do with that knife once he got his hands on it and turned toward the officer that was holding onto his shirt, trying to prevent him from getting the knife and opened fire on Blake only after telling him to drop the knife?
Are police officers supposed to let criminals, and that IS what Jacob Blake is, stab them or shoot them before they take action? Because that is what this movement now sounds like to me.
