Actor Keegan Allen, known for playing Toby Cavanaugh on “Pretty Little Liars,” says he was struck in the head and robbed of his watch by two armed men in West Hollywood on Thursday evening, WEHO Times reports.
The robbery happened outside Laurel Supply market, and sheriff’s deputies were sent to 8445 Santa Monica Boulevard, according to the outlet. It reported that the emergency call described a victim being assaulted with a gun and robbed of a Rolex.
Allen described the attack himself on Instagram. In a video in which his face was covered in blood, he said, “I was just robbed of my watch outside of Laurel Supply.”
He went on: “These two dudes hit me in the head, pointing a gun at me with a knife, and then took off.” He said the men wore masks.
In a written caption, Allen said he was robbed “at gunpoint and knifepoint by two young men” who, he wrote, “threatened to KILL me over my watch and would have!”
He also wrote, “My life for a watch,” and, “West Hollywood is not safe anymore.”
Allen shared surveillance footage as well. By WEHO Times’ description, it appeared to show the suspects striking him three times.
Much of the account rests on Allen’s own posts. The detail that one man held a gun and the other a knife comes from him; the emergency call, as the outlet reported it, mentioned only a gun. WEHO Times published no on-record statement from the sheriff’s department about the robbery.
The article does not say whether Allen received medical treatment, and it gives no value for the watch.
Sheriff’s radio communications cited by the outlet described two adult male suspects who fled north on Olive Drive in an unknown vehicle. The investigation remained ongoing, and authorities had not released further information about the suspects or confirmed any arrests. WEHO Times labeled the story as developing.
The outlet placed the robbery within a series of reported robberies in the area. On Oct. 1, at about 5:15 p.m., three suspects entered a business on Holloway Drive near Sunset Boulevard and allegedly stole jewelry from a victim, and one person was taken to a hospital.
No arrests were reported in that case. A separate burglary was reported on Holloway Drive on Sept. 22. The article does not say that any of the incidents are connected.
Allen told his followers he would post an update soon.
