New England Patriots running back TreVeyon Henderson says he was recently hospitalized for several days after what he called an “unexpected and unusual medical emergency,” OutKick reports.
In a statement on X, the 24-year-old said the emergency involved “a series of unexplained neurological symptoms.”
He said he underwent extensive medical testing and evaluation, and that while the results “have come back positive and reassuring,” the cause “remains unknown and unexplainable.”
The symptoms affected his strength, coordination and some of his physical functions, Henderson said.
He plans to keep working closely with specialists and physical therapists and said he is “committed to doing everything necessary to return to full health.”
Henderson had been listed on the Patriots’ injury report with an illness, but the extent of it was not known until his statement.
He thanked his wife for being by his side and said the couple is grateful for the support of their family, the Patriots organization and everyone who offered prayers and encouragement.
Now in his second season after the Patriots drafted him in the second round in 2025 out of Ohio State, Henderson has 52 carries for 203 yards and a touchdown in six games this season.
