One of the greatest broadcasters the game of baseball has ever known is gone.
Vin Scully, the longtime voice of the Dodgers, has passed away.
He was 94 years old.
A True Icon of the Game
For many of us that grew up in the 1960s and 1970s, the voices that told us the game were just as important as the players playing the game.
Few, however, stuck in our minds and became true icons, but Vin Scully was one of them.
He was with the Dodgers for six decades, starting his career in 1950 at Ebbetts field and retiring in 2016.
That is the longest any broadcaster has worked for a single team in the game’s history.
Every game started the same way… “It’s time for Dodgers baseball.”
The Dodgers got it right in their sendoff to Scully…
There will never be another Vin Scully. You will be forever missed. 🎙💙 pic.twitter.com/WyTmXsati5

I can only think of a handful of broadcasters I would put in his league where the voice immediately made it quite clear who was taking the field.
There were few still that could put you in the stands with their voice, but he was one of them.
Rest in peace, Mr. Scully, because your voice will live on forever.
