The three dead students were identified as UVA wide receivers Lavel Davis Jr. and Devin Chandler, as well as linebacker D’Sean Perry.

The two injured students are listened in critical and good condition.

The students were returning from a play when the shooting started.

University of Virginia sophomore Em Gunter heard the gunfire.

Gunter stated, “I looked over to my friend and like, ‘Did you hear that?’

“I was like, ‘I think that was like gunfire.'”

The White House, as expected, jumped all over the shooting to promote gun legislation, stating, “We need to enact an assault weapons ban to get weapons of war off America’s streets.

“House Democrats acted, and the Senate should follow.”
