On Wednesday, there was a bit of a miscommunication, or at least that is the story that House Speaker Pelosi (D-CA) is telling everyone.
A flight near the Capitol carrying a member of the Army’s Golden Parachute team led to the evacuation of the Capitol.
The evacuation order was given by the Capitol Police, allegedly because the FAA never told the Capitol Police the flight was scheduled.
Oops
The parachutist was scheduled for the Washington Nationals game in D.C.
Because these planes fly at a lower altitude, typically, the FAA would give Capitol Police a heads up that the light was taking place.
According to the Capitol Police, that warning was never given.
So, when the plane was spotted, the evacuation order was given.

This led to House Speaker Pelosi losing her cool with the FAA.
Now, keep in mind, one of Pelosi’s duties is to oversee Capitol security, so if the Capitol Police dropped the ball somehow, that would come back on her.
So, she ripped the FAA to deflect the blame.
Pelosi also stated, “The unnecessary panic caused by this apparent negligence was particularly harmful for Members, staff and institutional workers still grappling with the trauma of the attack on their workplace on January 6th.
“Congress looks forward to reviewing the results of a thorough after-action review that determines what precisely went wrong today and who at the Federal Aviation Administration will be held accountable for this outrageous and frightening mistake.”
If they find out the Capitol Police were the ones that dropped the ball here, what do you think the chances are that we ever find that out?
