Former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton said Wednesday that she regrets not challenging former FBI Director James Comey more forcefully before the 2016 presidential election.

“I wish somebody had told me that I needed to take on Jim Comey,” Clinton said on the “High Stakes” podcast with Kara Swisher.

She accused Comey of breaking Justice Department norms against interfering in elections and of a “deliberate, reckless effort to curry favor with the Republicans.”

Her remarks came 10 years to the day after Comey told Congress the FBI would review newly discovered emails tied to its investigation of Clinton’s private email server.

Two days before the election, he said the review had not changed the FBI’s conclusion that charges were not warranted.

They also came days after the Justice Department filed a two-count criminal information against Comey, alleging he communicated national defense information to an unauthorized person in 2016 and conspired to disclose it.

The department said it filed to beat the statute of limitations while its investigation continues. Comey’s attorneys argue prosecutors need a grand jury indictment, and Comey has denied wrongdoing.

Fox News contributor Joe Concha criticized Clinton for revisiting the episode “as if she was the victim.”
