In case the main stream media did not show you this story, and in case you missed it.
It’s official, Mike Gill has been killed. He passed away on February 4 after he was shot on January 29. It was supposedly just another of those daily occurrence DC “carjackings” but the facts make it look a lot more like an assassination. Gill was formerly chief of staff of the U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission and had been appointed by President Donald Trump. It’s not clear if he was working on any current political projects which might have contributed to his murder.
Trump official killed
Former Trump administration official Mike Gill was killed in what appears to be a carjacking. Politico says it was part of a “spree” of them. At the time of his death, he was 56.
His wife, Kristina, has been having a really rough week, as he fought for survival in intensive care.
“It is with profound sadness that I wish to inform the community of the passing of my husband, Mike Gill. His sudden departure has left a void in our lives that can never be filled,” she wrote in a prepared statement. It’s never easy when a loved one is tragically killed.
This weekend, Mike Gills died from injuries after yet another carjacking in Washington, D.C. https://t.co/3DxODQPmkC I have lived in and around D.C. since the 70s. Yet, I admit that I now avoid walking around the city out of concern over the crime…

“In this time of grief, we are grateful for the outpouring of love and support from family, friends, and the community, and extend our heartfelt gratitude to everyone who has reached out to offer condolences and assistance.”
After his Trump appointed post as chief of staff of the U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission ended, Gill served as Senior vice president for Capital Markets at the Housing Policy Council.
There hasn’t been anything sinister reported about housing policy worth getting him killed, so conspiracy theorists are left empty handed. Gill left behind three children.
Suspect already dead
All the public knows about the actual shooting is what was contained in the statement released by the Metropolitan Police Department.
The shooter, identified as Artell Cunningham, “approached the parked vehicle on K Street, got inside and shot the male driver and then left the vehicle.” That is what many would call “assassination style.” The suspect was soon “shot and killed by police after a second fatal shooting.”
The only thing that seems to connect the dots between shootings is that Cunningham apparently needed a ride. Obviously the carjacking problem has gotten so far out of hand in our nation’s capitol that anyone can easily get killed for their car keys.
Do you trust this anti-Trump #BidenAdministration enough to believe this wasn't an intentional hit?#MikeGill #TrumpAdministration #WashingtonDC #GunViolence pic.twitter.com/1WQboEZZJC

If it had been a professional hit the assassin might have gotten away with it. Trying to jack another ride was what did him in. That marks him as an amateur.
MPD admits that they have quite a few carjackings in the city but folks rarely get killed. All it takes to boost a Kia is a USB cable. “In D.C., the number of carjackings increased for the sixth consecutive year, with 959 reported incidents in 2023.”
When Donald Trump heard the news, he was quick to post his thoughts. “Wonderful and brilliant Mike Gill, a highly respected member of the Trump Administration, was ruthlessly and viciously shot in the head during a carjacking in Washington, D.C. He was a SPECIAL PERSON — His family and friends are devastated. The Federal Government must take over D.C. God bless Michael and his family!” It’s a tragedy but maybe now that someone with this high of a profile has been killed, his death will make a difference. It can, if there are changes made.
