Unless Joe Biden fires himself today, he has broken yet another promise.
On Monday, Joe Biden got caught on hot mic blasting another reporter.
This time, it was Fox News’ Peter Doocy.
Broken Promises
To fully appreciate this outburst from Biden, we need to backtrack just a bit.
Not long after taking office, Joe Biden got on his soapbox about the harsh treatment Trump sometimes levied against reporters.
He stated, “I’m not joking when I say this: If you’re ever working with me and I hear you treat another colleague with disrespect or talk down to someone, I promise you, I will fire you on the spot — on the spot.
“No ifs ands or buts.
“Everybody is entitled to be treated with decency and dignity.”
Last week, Biden accused a female Fox News reporter of asking a “stupid question,” even though it was one that was very relevant.
This week, Biden went after Doocy.
Biden threw a temper tantrum when reporters were asking questions about things Joe did not want to talk about.
He stated, “The only reason I don’t like doing this is because you never report on why I’ve called a meeting, and this is important.
“I had a very, very, very good meeting. Totally unanimity with all the European leaders. We’ll talk about it later. Thank you.”
The funny thing is this is how the media has always worked.
When they have a shot at a question, they ask it, regardless of what you want them to talk about.
The man in the Oval Office does not get to dictate what questions the media asks.
To that point, as Biden’s handlers were shuffling reporters out of the room, Doocy yelled out, “Will you take questions on inflation then?
“Do you think inflation will be a political liability ahead of the midterms?”
That is when the hot mic caught Biden…
To his credit, Doocy took it all in stride, appearing on “The Five” later in the day, where he took another shot from his buddy Jesse Watters…
At the very least, Biden needs to apologize to Doocy in front of the nation.
However, I think most of us would prefer if he followed up on his earlier promise of firing himself on the spot for his disrespectful comments.
